Ianthe Elizabeth Brautigan is the daughter of American writer Richard Brautigan. She was born in 1960 in San Francisco, California. Her father, Richard Brautigan, was famous for his novels such as "Trout Fishing in America" and "In Watermelon Sugar". Ianthe Elizabeth Brautigan was only five years old when her father died by suicide in 1984, and she and her mother were left to deal with the aftermath. She later wrote a memoir titled "You Can't Catch Death: A Daughter's Memoir", in which she shares her memories of her father and the struggles she faced following his death. In addition to her writing, Ianthe Elizabeth Brautigan has also worked in the film industry as a writer and producer.
